Alan D. Wasserman graduated summa cum laude from Hamilton College and a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School.

Mr. Wasserman concentrates his practice in environmental law and regulation. His practice includes redevelopment of contaminated sites, environmental remediation, air pollution control, underground storage tanks, water pollution control and environmental concerns related to corporate and real estate transactions. He has represented clients in toxic tort litigation and has prepared and analyzed toxicological issues associated with chemicals in connection with litigation and proposed regulatory standards.

Mr. Wasserman actively participates in environmental legislative and regulatory initiatives. He has served on the Part 201 Advisory Committee, a statewide stakeholder group that reviewed and develops policies and rules on Michigan's environmental remediation programs. He is currently serving on both ad hoc and formal committees convened by DEQ to review and make reforms to the Part 201 program. He is also a member of the City of Detroit's REUS Team for redevelopment of contaminated sites.

Mr. Wasserman is admitted to practice before all Michigan courts, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and all District of Columbia courts.

A frequent author and speaker, Mr. Wasserman's articles on environmental issues have appeared in numerous professional journals, including The Detroit College of Law Review, The Journal of Environmental Engineering and Management, and the Michigan Environmental Law Journal, and Mathew-Bender's Brownfield Law & Practice.

Mr. Wasserman is a member of the State of Michigan, District of Columbia and Detroit Bar Associations. He is also a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, where he is a member of the Environmental Law Section, and the Washtenaw County Bar Association, where he is the chair of the Environmental Law Section and a member of the Federal Practice Section.
